Unsolicited Advice Is Never Welcome- The Camp Boot Camp

Hey AFF!! (Awesome Fit Fam)

Happy Good Friday!  I hope you have had a fabulous week!  I’m excited because my lil munchkins start Spring Break today so we are leaving to San Francisco tomorrow afternoon to enjoy a few days together.   San francisco

Staying in a hotel always makes me uncomfortable for many reasons and one of them is because of the lack of available food.  I am taking a lot of packed meals and snacks because:

We will inevitably be eating out, so with the risk of sounding high maintenance (which by the way,
I’m not at all), I will make sure to preview the menu before we go to make sure I can eat something. When ordering, unless it’s my scheduled cheat meal, I tell the waiter…”I’m highly allergic, everything has to be grilled and totally dry” hehehe, all this with a huge smile of course.  They are always very accommodating…try it!

This trip is just with my hubby Luis, the boys and I, so I don’t have to worry about family and friends
trying to convince me certain food won’t make me fat…LOL, like that’s my worry!!  I know you hear it too.

When you’re out with friends and you CHOOSE to eat or not eat certain food, people make comments…trying to convince you that you look just fine the way you are…one drink isn’t going to do anything…you workout so much you should eat what you want to…I know you hear these types of comments as well.

Not a lot of things don’t bother me, I promise, I don’t take things personal, but I find this to be so annoying! Or how about when you are having your scheduled cheat meal and people ask if you are no longer on a diet!!

I actually haven’t been on a diet since I was 18 when I weighted 97 pounds and had a butt full of cellulite!

Now I’m 10 pounds heavier, 22 years older, 2 kids and no cellulite (most days!!!).  Go figure.

I seriously don’t understand how what I eat affects anyone’s life in anyway at all!  Unsolicited advice is never welcome so mind your own business!  OMG…I think I just had a little Rant??  lol!!

Anyway, do it for you!  I believe in myself with all my heart, I don’t have to prove myself to anyone, this is my life and I will make whatever I want to happen happen! Also, don’t forget our Special Cheat Meal pot luck is around the corner, April 11, 2013 at 6pm in Chino. Let me know if you’re coming!!

Here is a great Fish Sticks recipe I want to share with you. It’s So delicious…you will for sure feel like you’re having a cheat meal!

Fish sticks fish

  • 1.5 lbs of tilapia
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 red pepper
  • ½ med. onion
  • 1 bunch cilantro

Throw all ingredients into a food processor or blender until it turns into a mush. Scoop into bowl and add 1 egg mix together and form (with hands) into little fish sticks.  Place onto cookie sheet and broil for 30 min. or until golden brown, I turned them over about ½ way through.

Dipping sauce

  • Non fat Greek yogurt.
  • Sprinkle a bit of Mrs. Dash seasoning

I absolutely love this recipe!
